Sankt Peter-Ording is a popular North Sea spa on the peninsula Eiderstedt in Schleswig-Holstein. The place is made up of Ording, Sankt Peter Bad, Sankt Peter Dorf (south) and Sankt Peter Böhl. Parts of the place are in Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park.

Today's parish has only existed in this form since 1967 when St. Peter and Ording were merged. Both places were ecclesiastically united 100 years earlier. Sankt Peter and today's district of Böhl have been united since 1553.

Sankt Peter-Ording has a rail connection with the stations Bad Sankt Peter Süd and Bad Sankt Peter-Ording. The "Eiderstedtquerbahn" which ends here branches off Husum from the Marschbahn (main line Hamburg - Sylt). The current operator of the regional train is DB Regio. The train runs every hour.

The beach of St. Peter-Ording is of its own beauty. Merely on Amrum there are similar sandbanks on the German North Sea coast.
Nature coast
The landscape around St. Peter-Ording is diverse and needs no comparison with many North Sea islands:
- 1 "Maleens Knoll" viewing platform - The open, wooden platform lies in the dunes and is freely accessible. From up here you have a beautiful view of the North Sea.
- Dune belt with pine forest - Hiking and cycling trails open up the area. The dunes may not be entered off the beaten path.
- Salt marshes - This particular plant community can be found in the foreshore in the tidal area. The pier from the dune thermal baths crosses the protected salt marshes.

The sandy beach mainly attracts bathers and water sports enthusiasts.
Swimming
The fine sandy beach is 12 km long and up to 2 km wide. The large sand bank (hot sand) can be reached from the Ording district via a footbridge and from St. Peter Bad via a pier. The beach in front of St. Peter Dorf and Böhl can be reached via the dunes and salt marshes. The priel, which ends in front of the pier, lies between the two beaches.

- Sand bank "hot sand" - The "Hitzsand" sandbank is approx. 12 km long and up to 500 m wide. The sea is constantly reshaping them. The stilt houses with beach restaurants are characteristic. If you're lucky, you might find a piece North Sea amber. Amber collectors used to be after the hot sand as "Hitzlöper" designated. It is of course easier to look at and purchase the stones in the North Sea Amber Museum.
- Nudist beach - North of the Ording bathing area is the nudist beach. The FK-Kultur officially moved into Sankt Peter-Ording as early as 1932.

- Cycle bridges to the beach
- In the northern area of the sandbank near Ording and on the sandbank near Süderhöft you can ride over bike paths to the beach. Only the pier (main train from the Dünen-Therme) is closed to bicycle traffic.

The 400 m wide Surf lane is located between the Ording and Bad bathing areas. Wind and kite surfers will find good conditions here. Beach sailing and kite buggy
The Kite buggy-The site is located between the pier in the south and the Köhlbrandsteg in the north. The area is allowed from June 1st to be entered.
