Komańcza is a mountain town on the river Osławicawho the Lower Beskids of the Bieszczady and Forest Carpathians separates, in the voivodeship Subcarpathian in the southeast Poland. He is on Beskydy main hiking trail, the longest long-distance hiking trail in Poland. The place is officially recognized as a potential health resort.
background
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1512. It was mostly populated by Lemken. In the course of the First Partition of Poland, the place came to the Habsburgs. During the Spring of Nations 1849 there was a battle between the rebels and the Habsburg troops. After the First and Second World War, the place became Polish again. The Primate of Poland, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, was interned in the monastery in the 1950s during Stalinism.

By plane
The international Krakow Airport located northwest and the international Rzeszów Airport north of Komańcza.
By train
Komańcza is by train from Krakow reachable. The place is south of the railway line Nowy Sącz-Sanok, also has a moderately frequented train station itself. You can also walk the last bit of the way from Krosno or cover Sanok by bus.
By bus
Regional buses go to Rzeszów and the surrounding towns.

The European long-distance footpath E8 leads through the place.
