European long-distance hiking trail E8 - Europäischer Fernwanderweg E8

The European long-distance hiking trail E 8 is part of the European network of hiking trails and is supposed to lead one day from Ireland to Turkey. However, it has not yet been fully defined and signposted. In addition to the countries mentioned above, the E 8 also carries out Great Britain, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, the Slovakia and Poland. Only after a gap (Ukraine) does he carry out Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria further. At the border triangle Bulgaria-Greece-Turkey the E8 ends for the time being. Along the entire route, it follows regional hiking trails with their different markings.


Ireland

In the south-west of Ireland the E 8 begins in Cahirciveen same with 2 variants.

Netherlands

The E 8 runs from the Europoort / Beneluxhaven passenger terminal in Rotterdam via Zanddijk, Brielle, Calanbrug, Rozenburg to the ferry and then on to Maasaluis / Schenkeldijk. Germany

Wyler-Aachen

The marking here is usually the St. Andrew's cross (with the addition of a number), often also the addition of E8.

It continues for another 1 km northeast, then in an easterly direction Gotteszell reached. The place is left to the east, then the E 8 leads south and crosses the after 8 km Breitenauer bar. Now it goes south, then further east to Rusel.

Then the southeast direction is taken, Datting, then Kapfing are crossed and in Gerhollig the E 8 turns again to the east and reached Lalling. The place is left in an easterly direction, Zueding is crossed, then the southeast direction is taken, Rohrstetten is crossed, then Kieflitz is reached. Now continue for a good 1 km in a southerly direction, then again to the southeast to Oberaign. Now 2 km to the northeast to the entrance of Langfurth, where the E 8 then heads east on the Bread yakl bars and then continues to Daxstein. Now it goes in a south-easterly direction via Fraldberg Zenting. Here the E 8 swings to the east, crosses one after the other Manzenreut, Einzersdorf, Lindau, Haundorf, Hundsruck and finally arrives Saldenburg. Now it continues in a south-easterly direction via Auggenthal to Matzersdorf. Now further east, in the Ilztal you will pass the Schneidermühle, the E 8 continues to follow the Ilz, passes the scrap tree mill, 3 km further the Aumühle and reaches 3 km further Kalteneck. Continue in the same direction Wildrannathat is left on the southeastern edge. 2 km to the east is the Ranna Lake where the E 8 takes a southerly direction and reaches the German-Austrian border a good 2 km further near Kappel.

Austria

Of Oberkappel At the German-Austrian border, the E 8 runs over the Ameisberg and Maria Bründl and further over Tannberg, Neufelden, Pürnstein to Peherstorf. From there to Loibergsdorf, Schmudsberg, Selker to Kefermarkt. We continue over the Buchberg, the Braunberghütte, through March, Amesreith, Wienau, Liebenstein after Liebenau. Further first to the north, then in a westerly direction to Karlstift. Well about that Nebelsteinhütte, continue after Wultschau And then to Weitra. From here to Ulrichs, Dietmanns, over the Guggaberg Gmuend. Now continue through the Blockheide Nature Park to Amaliendorf-Alfang, then Heidenreichenstein, the Hochmoor-Gemeindeau Nature Park, Buchbach, Well to Waidhofen an der Thaya. Now at the Thaya along after Thaya (Place) then over Niederedlitz, Dobersberg, Flaking wood to Karlstein on the Thaya, continue after Speisendorf, Liebnitz to Raabs an der Thaya. From here the E 8 continues over the Kollmitz castle ruins, Eibenstein, Primmersdorf Castle, Drosendorf to Wolfsbach. Now it goes on Geras, Langau, Schloss Riedersburg, Felling, Hardegg, Ruine Kaja and the Schloss Karlslust to Retz.

Von hier aus geht es weiter Unternalb, Ragelsdorf, Haugsdorf, Alberndorf, Locatelliwald, Maiberg nach Großharras. Nun weiter über Platzmannsdorf, Oberleis, Dörfles, Ernstbrunn to Großrußbach. It goes on over Hornsburg, zur Luisenmühle, Manhartsbrunn, die Lourdeskapelle nach Königsbrunn. Über den Bisamberg, Lanzgenzerdorf wird Vienna reached. Hier geht es weiter über die Nordbrücke, die Floridsdorfer Brücke zur Reichbrücke. Nun weiter über die Donauinsel, Steinspornbrücke zum Forsthaus Lobau, dann weiter über Groß-Enzersdorf to Orth on the Danube. Next after Eckersau und seinem Schloss, nun nach Stopfenreuth and Hainburg on the Danube. Über die Prota Hungarica und Wolfsthal ist dann die österreichisch-slowakische Grenze erreicht, wo der E 8 in die Slowakei hinein führt.

Slovakia

In the Niederen Tatra verläuft der E 8 oft oberhalb der Baumgrenze.

Etwa 1 km nach Überqueren der österreichisch-slowakische Grenze wird die Donau überquert, der E 8 führt nach Bratrislava into it. Weiter geht es über Bratrislava-Vinohrady, den Kamzík, Biely kríz, Somár, den Baba-Sattel (Hütte), Skalnatá, Taricove skaly, Sološnica (Ort 2 km abseits), den Vápenná. Nun über Klokoč zur Hütte Brezinky, über den Záruby, Nespalovci, Raková-Tal nach Dobrá Voda. Weiter Slopy, Brezová pod Bradlom, den Bradlo, Dolná-Havlova, Myjava, Uhliká, den Čupec, Velká Javořina (Hütte), Cetuna, Lubína, Hrušové, Víšnové to Nové Mesto nad Váhom. Next after Beckov, Lazový vrch, Selec, die Inovec-Hütte, Jarky, Čiernachov, zur Hütte pod Ostrým vrchom, weiter nach Soblahov, Trenčín, Kubrá, nach Trenčianske Teplice. Weiter zur Felsformation Kamenné vratá, Slopský vrch, Horná Poruba, über den Vápeč, nach Kopec, Košecké Rovné, Zliechov, den Strážov, nach Číčmany, Javorinka-Sattel, Čelo, den Homôlka, dann Fačkovské-Sattel (Hütte), Holice, den Vrícke-Sattel, Závozy, Vyšehradské-Sattel, Vyšehrad, Misárske, nach Sklené. Nun weiter Vysoka, Kunešov, nach Kemnické Bane.

Von hier nach Krahule, auf den Skalka (Hütte), Vyhnatová, Krodícke-Sattel, Svrčinník, Malý Sturec (Pass), Kráľova studna (Hütte), Križna, Šturec-Sattel, durch Zvolen, Donovaly, Polianka, über den Kozí chrbát, Híadeľské-Sattel, über den Veľka Chochuľa, Skalka-Sattel, Chabenec, Poľana, Chopok, the Ďumbier, Štefánika (Hütte), Čertovica (Hütte), Čertova svadba, Homôľka, den Priehyba-Sattel, den Veľká Vápenica, Andrejcová, über den Kráľova hoľa to Telgárt. Weiter über den Besník-Pass, Honzovské, nahe Palcmanská Maša, Kruhová, Smrečinka. Weiter über den Súľová-Sattel, Skalisko, den Úhorná-Pass, Pipitka, Osadník, Štôs-kúpele, den Lastovičí vrch, Jedľovec, Kloptaň, Tri studne, den Kojšovská hoľa (Hütte), die Lajoška-Hütte, Jahodná-Hütte, Kammený hrb, nach Bankov. Weiter über Košice, Podhradová, Kavečany, Biela skala, Kysak, Obišovce, L'ubovec, Radatice nach Cemjata. Nun weiter über Malý Šariš, Veľký Šariš, Kanaš, Terňa, Hradisko, the Čergov-Pass (Hütte), Bukový vrch, Zobrák nach Hervartov. Weiter Kľušovská Zábava, dann Mihaľov und nach Bardejov.

Nun weiter über Bardejovské Kúpele, den Stebnická Magura, Zborov, Andrejová, Spálený vrch, Kurmika, Makovica, Makovické sedlo, Čierna hora, Svidník, Nižná Jedľová, Kapišová, Nižná Pisaná, Vyšná Pisaná, Medvedie zum Dukla-Pass an der polnisch-slowakischen Grenze.

Poland

Von der polnisch-slowakischen Grenze beim Dukla-Pass führt der E 8 nach Barwinek, dann weiter Zyndranowa, Tylawa, zur Einsiedelei Pustelnia bł. Jana. Weiter Nowa Wieś, Cergowa, Lubatowa, über Iwonicz-Zdrój nach Rymanów-Zdgórz. Dann führt der E 8 weiter über Wisłoczek, Puławy, Tokarina, Komancza, Duszatyn, dann über den Chryszczata. Weiter über den Žebrak-Pass, Wołosań, Cisna, Okraglik, Smerek, Połonia Wetlińska, Orłowicza-Pass (Hütte), Brzegi Góre, Połonina Caryńska, Ustrzyki Góre, durch den Nationalpark Bieszczady (Tarnica, Halicz) zum Beskidien-Pass bei der polnisch-ukrainischen Grenze. Ab hier ist der Verlauf des E 8 durch die Ukraine noch nicht festgelegt, erst in Rumänien nimmt der E 8 wieder seinen Lauf.

Ukraine

In der Ukraine ist der Verlauf des E8 noch nicht festgelegt. Es bietet sich der rot markierte und gut beschilderte Transkarpatenweg von Veliky Berezhny oder vom (geschlossenen!) Grenzübergang auf dem Beskidenpass über die Karpatenkämme als Weiterweg an. Die Route führt durch mehrere Nationalparks und durch die Orte Wolowetz, Mischhirija, Ust-Tschorna, Kvasy, über den höchsten Berg der Ukraine, den Hoverla, dann entlang des Tals der Theiss zur rumänischen Grenze bei Sighetu Marmației. Der Weg durch die Ukraine ist etwa 400 km lang.

Romania

Für den rumänischen Abschnitt hatte der Siebenbürgische Karpatenverein 2014 Fördermittel beantragt.[1]Seit Herbst 2017 ist die Route des E8 in Rumänien nun „offiziell“ festgelegt. Der Abschnitt des Fernwanderwegs beginnt am ukrainisch-rumänischen Grenzübergang bei Sighetu Marmației (Marmaroschsiget) und endet nach 1463 km und mehr als 63 Höhenkilometern im Dreiländereck zu Bulgaria and Serbia am Donaudurchbruch Porțile de Fier (Eisernes Tor) bei Drobeta Turnu Severin (Turm Severin).

Dabei folgt er in den Ostkarpaten den Gebirgszügen Tibles, Munții Rodnei (Rodna), Suhard, Rarău, Stânișoara, Ceahlău, Hășmaș, Tarcău, Ciuc, Nemira, Vrancea, Penteleu, die Munții Buzăului durch die Ostkarpaten nach Süden und erreicht den Piatra Mare (Hohenstein) bei Brașov.

In Brașov (Kronstadt) ändert der E8 seine Richtung, steigt in den Südkarpaten (Transsilvanische Alpen) über den Piatra Craiului (Königsstein) to the Făgăraș- (Fogarascher) Hochgebirge mit den höchsten Erhebungen über 2500 m auf und überschreitet es in seiner gesamten Länge. At Turnu Roșu (Schweinsdorf) near Sibiu (Hermannstadt) erreicht der E8 das Tal des Flusses Olt (Alt), um direkt wieder zu den Lotru-und Cindrel- (Zbin) Bergen aufzusteigen und seiner westlichen Richtung zur Steinernen Rinne zu folgen. Der E8 wendet sich nach Süden und durchquert das Retezat-Gebirge, die letzte alpine Erhebung der Südkarpaten.

Nach dem Abstieg vom Retezat verläuft der E8 in südlicher Richtung durch lediglich hügeliges Gelände in den Mehedinți-Bergen und bleibt dabei weitgehend unter der 1000-m-Marke. Der E8 erreicht am Grenzübergang bei Dobera-Turnu Severin die Donau und verlässt dort Rumänien.[2]

Serbia

In Serbia soll der E8 zusammen mit dem E4 by the Balkan Mountains direction Sofia streben. Die Länge des E8 in Serbien beträgt schätzungsweise 450 km.

Bulgaria

Vorbemerkung: Die Angaben im bulgarischen Bereich wurden nach ISO aus der kyrillischen in die lateinische Schrift umgewandelt.

Der E 8 beginnt in Bulgarien in Borovec (ca.70 km von Sofia entfernt). Von dort entweder per Seilbahn über den Jastrebec (Hütte), oder Aufstieg durch das Bistrica-Tal zur Musala-Hütte auf dem Gipfel des Musala (höchster Punkt des E 8). Nun weiter Mančo, dann abseits der Hütte Zavračica vorbei, Ostrec, nun abseits der Hütte Belmeken zum See Belmeken. Über die Smirnenski-Hütte, Jundola (Hütte), Pašovi, zum Bahnhof Avramovo. Weiter Velijca, Bozjovo, Čreška, Černovrăh, zum Kolarov-See, dann zum Široka Poljana-See, danach abseits der Hütte Orfej vorbei, Tešel, Gjovren oder Jagodina, zur Djavolskoto Gărlo Höhle. Nun weiter Trigrad (Hütte) zum Seegebiet Livadnica. Weiter Mugla, Lednicata (Hütte), Goljam Snez̆nik, Perelik (Hütte), Studenec (Hütte) zum Roz̆en-Pass (Hütte). Weiter zur Hütte Momc̆il Junak, Hajduški Poljani, Prespa (Hütte), Svoboda (Hütte), Slaništeto, Belički Vrăh zum Topolovski-Pass. Vin hier führt der E 8 weiter zur Hütte Sini Vrăh, Z̆ălt Kamăk, Panic̆kovo, Jončevo, Mečkovec (Hütte), Spahievo, Sirakovo zum Stausee Trakiec. Von hier führt der E 9 dann weiter Teketo, Orlovo, Kniz̆ovnik (Hütte), Dolono Vojvodino, Careva Poljana, Kladenec, Ljaskovec, Dolno Sădievo, weiter abseits der Hütte Tănkovo, Gorata, Mezek, nach Svilengrad, wo der E 8 vorerst endet.[3]
