Krakow am See is a small town in the German state Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The one on the old highway from Plau am See to Guestrow Krakow (today Bundesstraße B 103) is located on the west bank of the bay-rich, around 15 km² large Krakower See, which is also responsible for the addition of the name to the lake. The place was raised to a town before 1277 and was first named in 1298 as "oppidum". In 1698 and 1759 Krakow was cremated by city fires. The castle of Nikolaus von Werle no longer exists. Krakow was recognized as a health resort in 1956.

The railway reached Krakow am See in 1882. Regular passenger traffic ceased in 2004. Occasionally, however, trains run by the Potsdam Railway Company.

  • From Berlin via the A 24 autobahn A24 and A 19 A19 to exit 15 Linstow, from here 9 km country road in a north-westerly direction.
  • From Rostock in a southerly direction on the A 19 A19 to exit 14 Krakow, from there around 8 km of country road to the southwest.
