Lie is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Lügde is a neighboring town of the famous state bath Bad Pyrmont, Lower Saxony. It lies between the Weser tributary Emmer and the Köterberg.

Other neighboring communities are: In the valley of the Emmer: Schieder-Schwalenberg, in the rest of the Lipper Bergland: Blomberg, Vahlbruch and Marienmünster, in the Weser Valley: Pollen and Höxter. With the exception of Bad Pyrmont, the neighboring communities belong to North Rhine-Westphalia.

The closest major city is Paderborn.

About history

A city fire at the end of the 18th century devastated large parts of the old town; only one street row (back street) was spared from the fire.
