Bad Pyrmont is a city in Lower Saxony. The spa town is the state spa of Lower Saxony.

About history
Bad Pyrmont is one of the oldest health resorts in Germany. Much of what is associated with modern spa operations was invented in Bad Pyrmont or was used very early on, such as bathing regulations, visitor's tax, and casino.
Bad Pyrmont did not come into being until the early modern age, in the 16th century, as a result of this spa operation, although some older places (such as Oesdorf in the east and Holzhausen in the southwest) in the city have opened up as districts.

The spa business has changed a lot in the last few decades and is now mainly held in the health care clinics of the health care providers. The guest does not choose the accommodation himself. The Hanover Airport(IATA: HAJ) can be reached in less than 1½ hours by direct connection with the S-Bahn.
Until Dusseldorf Airport(IATA: DUS) it takes just under 3 hours by train with a change in Paderborn, partly also in Hamm.

From 1 Bad Pyrmont train station there is a direct connection with the S-Bahn to Paderborn above Altenbeken and Hanover Airport above Hamelin and Hanover. The next ICE stop is that Central station in Hanover. There is a connection to the IC in Altenbeken and Paderborn.

- 1 Pyrmont Castle. Former residence of the Counts of Waldeck-Pyrmont from the 18th century. The castle is part of the 16th century fortress Pyrmont. Today it houses a museum.
