The Main-Werra long-distance cycle path leads from Wurzburg above Bad Neustadt to Meiningen. He connects the Main cycle path with the Werra valley cycle path. One crosses the Rhön east of the Rhön cycle path and has fewer gradients. Those who start in Schweinfurt have a shortened Main-Werra connection, and since this is not a river cycle path, you can also start at the Werra. After Bad Neustadt you can then alternatively continue down the Saale Bad Kissingen follow and from there cycle on various paths (e.g. Fränkische-Saale-Radweg) to the Main. The routes via Kissingen offer much more for the senses, but are longer; the one between Meiningen and Mellrichstadt is recommended Sülzetal cycle path as a better alternative.
There is a direct connection with the regional train (Erfurter Bahn) between Schweinfurt and Meiningen.
