Mirow is a small town on the Mecklenburg Kleinseenplatte in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The city Mirow at the Mirower See with its castle is the starting point of the canoe tour Old ride, which connects Mirow with the Müritz via a series of lakes connected by canals, with the construction of the canal of the Müritz-Havel waterway, which Mirow with the little Müritz and Rechlin connects, the old trip has lost its meaning as a shipping route.
The history of the place begins with the Slavic village Mirov, from Prince Heinrich Borwin von Mecklenburg in the 13th century. Neustrelitz has hourly regional express connections with Berlin and every two hours with Rostock and Stralsund. It takes a good two hours to get from Berlin or from Rostock to Mirow.

The drive from Berlin takes 1:45 to two hours on all three routes, but the distance traveled differs somewhat (via the B 96: 125 km; via the A 19: 165 km).
You can also use the A 19 from Rostock and Hamburg to the Röbel exit. The drive from Rostock (125 km) takes just under 1½ hours; from Hamburg (230 km) 2:15 to 2½ hours
By boat
From Mirow the passenger ships operate Blue and white fleet on the various lakes of the Neustrelitz Kleinseenplatte, hardly any traveler will use the ship connections to get there.
By bicycle
Mirow is right on the Mecklenburg Lakes Cycle Route, between Neustrelitz and Wesenberg in one as well Were and Rechlin in the other direction. In 10 km away Wesenberg there is a connection to the Long-distance cycle route Berlin – Copenhagen or D-Route 11 Ostsee – Upper Bavaria or EuroVelo 7 Sonnenroute.
