Mistelbach is a district capital and local center in the north Weinviertel.

The Mistelbach, a small brook, gave the city its name. It rises in the mistletoe spring in Frättingsdorf and flows through Hörersdorf and Siebenhirten to Mistelbach, where it flows into the Zaya.

The 1 Mistelbach / Zaya city train station is of Vienna Reachable from with the S-Bahn (Vienna-Laa an der Thaya). The trains often start in the south of Vienna Mödling or Wiener Neustadt; in Vienna they hold i.a. in Meidling, Hauptbahnhof (below), Wien Mitte, Praterstern and Floridsdorf and on the way in Gerasdorf or Wolkersdorf. Travel time Wien Mitte-Mistelbach approx. 1 1/4 hours.
