Nideggen is a city in the Eifel in North Rhine-Westphalia. Nideggen lies above the Rur and the Rursee, south of the county seat Düren, West of Zülpich and north of Heimbach.

Districts
The districts have completely different characters due to their geographical location and their characteristics and are hardly recognizable as a common travel destination.
- At the Rursee:Schmidt is predominantly on a plateau above the Rursees. Its district is located directly on the Rursee Eschauel. Schmidt is the second largest district and is somewhat remote from the main town, separated by the Rur valley.
- in the Rurtal:Evenings and Bridge can be used with little incline, e.g. via the Rurtalbahn can be achieved. Evenings is considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in the Düren district due to the many half-timbered houses. Both parts of the city are directly connected to the Rurtalbahn, but not by roads; Cars drive through the main town of Nideggen.
- On the plateau: With the main town Nideggen is also the district Nideggen mountain (not to be confused with Mechernich-Berg, 8 km away). Nideggen has a small town character, whereas Berg is clearly structured in a rural way
- At the transition to Cologne Bay lies Wollersheim. Wollersheim has similar location advantages as Embken
- In the Cologne Bay lies Embken. It's nicely spruced up, but not really prepared for tourism, despite its convenient location (close to Cologne).

Only the districts of Abenden and Brück are connected to the Rurtalbahn. It takes about 40 minutes from there Düren (Regional rail transport), 80 minutes to Aachen or Cologne, each with a change in Düren, with a connection to the ICE and Thalys.
