Schleiden is a city and municipality in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
background
The city of Schleiden is located in north rhine-westphalia part of Eifel in the valley of the Olef, a tributary of the Urft (the mouth is in the district Gemünd) in the Obersee (the upper section of the Rursees) merges with the Rur. Schleiden is also a neighboring community of Eifel National Park. The town of Schleiden is the historic district town of the Schleiden district (known as the "old district of Schleiden").
