Norrland is a region of the Sweden.
To know
Norrland is the most touristic region of Sweden, since it offers unspoiled landscapes (in some municipalities the population density drops to almost zero); the industrial structure is a little more lacking. In certain areas of Norrland this has led to intense emigration, towards the cities of the coast or even towards the urban centers of the south.
Inside is the Swedish Lapland (Lappland in Swedish), the northernmost province of Sweden which is an administrative part of the counties of Norrbotten is Västerbotten of which it forms the western part.
The Lapp area was defined in 1996 as a World Heritage Site byUNESCO, and some national parks of Sweden: the Sarek national park, the Muddus national park, the Padjelanta national park and the Stora Sjöfallet national park.
