Marienburg Castle is a Welfenschloss in the municipality Pattensen South from Hanover.
background
Marienburg Castle is a castle complex on the Marienberg south of Hanover and west of Hildesheim. The lock left King George V of Hanover as a birthday present for his wife Marie built between 1857 and 1867. The queen only lived there for one year, from 1866 to 1867, because she then followed her husband into exile in Austria. As the queen's possession, the castle did not later fall to Prussia, but remained in the possession of the Welfenhaus, which still owns the castle to this day.
That was still part of the castle House of Calenberg in Schulenburg and the train station in Nordstemmen.
