Tourist Attractions
Ravensburg
1 The former headquarters of the Barons Göler von Ravensburg, visible from afar, was built in the 13th century at a height of 286 m and towers over the village of Sulzfeld by around 90 m.
When hiking to the castle, you first come to a gate on the south side. The small courtyard behind it leads into a basement room that has been converted into a wedding chapel. The castle gate is only a few meters away, it offers normal cars access to the outer bailey, in which there is enough space in addition to the farm buildings, which can be used for events or just as a parking lot.
In the southwest of the outer bailey a bridge leads over the moat through a gate to the inner bailey. The residential buildings and the keep are grouped around their inner courtyard. The gate to the main castle is open from Wednesday to Sunday during the opening times of the restaurant from 10 a.m., then the keep is also freely accessible and offers a wide view to the west of the Vosges and Palatinate mountains and to the north Steinsberg Castle and the Odenwald. However, the entrance to the keep is not for people with claustrophobia.
