Health
Currently, there are no particular sanitary and epidemiological threats in Thailand, although in this country, as in the entire region, there has been a lot of attention in recent years about the bird flu epidemic. The threat was almost over. However, care should be taken when dealing with live poultry and birds. The strict hygiene rules necessary in tropical countries should be followed. Mains water is not potable. Bottled filtered or mineral water is generally available for sale. There are no problems with accessing medical care. Medical services in Thailand are of a very high standard, but quite expensive. The cost of a standard medical visit is around 500-800 THB, a day in a hospital (depending on the standard) - from 2,000 to 5,000 THB (and more, even up to 20,000 THB). Before leaving Poland, make sure you have health insurance. Although no special vaccinations are required in Thailand, it is recommended to vaccinate against:
- viral hepatitis A,
- viral hepatitis B,
- diphtheria, tetanus, polio,
- Typhoid,
- rabies.
