Waake is a small place near by Goettingen in Lower Saxony.

The first written mention of Waake comes from the year 1013 as an estate. Agriculture and the manor in the village have a long history.
Waake has been a member of the Radolfshausen joint municipality since the municipal reorganization in 1973. The neighboring village of Bösinghausen was incorporated into the municipality of Waake.

By plane
The closest airport with scheduled air traffic is the Hanover Airport(IATA: HAJ), 100 km. Due to the good train connection to Göttingen, the airport Frankfurt(IATA: FRA) suitable for arrival.
By train
The Göttingen train station (min with bus 170 (see below) or 11 km by taxi or bike) enables the connection to the long-distance train network.
By bus
The following local transport lines operate:
- 170 (Göttingen train station - Göttingen-Turn - Goettingen-Ring rings – Waake – Boar idols – Wollbrandshausen – Gieboldehausen – Obernfeld – Mingerode – Duderstadt)
- 173 (Bösinghausen – Waake– Mackenrode – Potzwenden – Falkenhagen)
In the street
Coming from the south, leave the A 7 at the Göttingen-Nord junction (72) and follow the B 27 in the direction of Braunlage for about 13 km to the exit 1 AS Waake-West.
Coming from the north, leave the A 7 at the Nörten-Hardenberg junction (71) and follow the B 446 direction Norten-Hardenberg for about a kilometer. At the Nörten-Hardenberg-West junction of the B 3, take this direction Göttingen and follow it for about 8 km to the Göttingen-Rinschenrott junction (first intersection). Turn right to stay on the B 3 and join the B 27 in the direction of Braunlage. Follow this for about 10 km to the Waake-West exit.
Coming from the east there are two equally fast options:
- More expressway: you leave the A 38 at the junction Major changes (9) and follow the B 243 towards Osterode for about 35 km to after Herzberg am Harz. From there, follow the B 27 in the direction of Göttingen for about 25 km to the exit 2 AS Waake-Ost.
- More country road: You leave the A 38 about 30 km later at the junction Leinefelde-Worbis (6) and follow the B 247 for 17 km to Duderstadt. There you change to the B 446 in the direction of Nörten-Hardenberg. After 13 km you will reach the Ergötzen-West junction; there you change to the B 27 in the direction of Göttingen, instead of following the B 446. On the B 27 it is another 3 km to the Waake-Ost exit.
By bicycle
From Göttingen there is a continuous cycle path parallel to the B 27 to Södderich. From there it is possible to drive on the former federal road to the village.
From Gieboldehausen and Duderstadt you can get to Waake on cycle paths parallel to federal highways 27 and 446 or on their former through-roads.

The closest hospital with a 24/7 emergency room is the Protestant Hospital (Göttingen-) Weende, which is located directly on the B 27 (approx. 10 km to the west). The nearby Göttingen, as the seat of a large medical faculty, also has the university clinic and numerous other hospitals, practice clinics, competence centers and resident doctors, so that a specialized specialist should always be available during normal opening hours.
