At the foot of the Zahmer Kaiser Mountains lies the town of Walchsee - an ideal family ski area in winter and one of the most beautiful cross-country skiing areas in Tyrol. In summer the Walchsee of the same name attracts as one of the warmest bathing lakes in Tyrol. The area is well developed by hiking and biking trails. Numerous alpine pastures and huts invite you to stop.

Coming from the north of Germany via the A8 (Munich-Salzburg) to the Inntaldreieck and further on the A 93 towards Kufstein, exit Oberaudorf and continue over the federal highway Niederndorf to Walchsee.

  • Swimming in the Walchsee
The Walchsee is the warmest swimming lake in Tyrol with a water temperature of up to 25 ° C in the summer months.
Bathing places subject to charge: Lake promenade, South Sea, east bank, Seemühle, lido, Seewiese Mertin.
The lake promenade, newly laid out at the beginning of 2000, with well-tended green areas and shallow lake access, is ideal for strolling and swimming. For children there is a water trampoline, an iceberg fixed in the lake, children's playgrounds with a pirate ship. At the bathing area on the east bank there is a beach bar, spacious sunbathing areas and a beach volleyball court.
