L'Milan-Linate airport (IATA: LIN) is the second largest airport in Milan. Connects Italian and European cities.

There are three airports in the greater Milan area, of which Malpensa is the biggest. The other two are Linate airport and Bergamo-Orio al Serio Airport, mainly used for low cost flights.

How to get

On the train

The airport currently has no direct train connections. In the next few years, the Milan M4 metro, which is currently under construction, will arrive at the airport.

You can reach the airport by arriving at the Milano Forlanini station, which is directly connected to the airport by the city ​​buses 73 (7 stops for a journey of about 10 minutes).

By car

The airport is located at the end of Viale Enrico Forlanini, which starts in the center of Milan, in Piazza Fontana.

  • A1 motorway: Continue until the junction with A51 - Tangenziale Est of Milan. Continue on the A51 until exit 6-Aeroporto Linate-V.le Forlanini, continuing on V.le Forlanini / SP14 until you reach the airport
  • A4 motorway: exit A51 Tangenziale Est of Milan; continue on the A51 to exit 6 Linate Airport - V.le Forlanini and continue on V.le Forlanini / SP14 to the airport
  • A7 motorway: exit A50 Tangenziale Ovest / Bologna; continue on the A50 until the junction with A1 / A51. Continue on the A51 until exit 6-Aeroporto Linate-V.le Forlanini and continue on V.le Forlanini / SP14 to reach the airport
  • A35 motorway: proceed in the direction of SP14 Milano Linate until you merge onto the A58 - Tangenziale Est Outer Milan, continuing to the Liscate exit; then take the SP14 / Via Circonvallazione Idroscalo until you reach the airport.

By bus

City bus lines are the cheapest way to get to Milan. The ticket costs € 1.50 per trip per person. There are two ticket machines at the stop on the arrival level. If you wish to continue driving in the city traffic of Milan, you can also buy a day ticket for 4.50 euros from these machines.

By taxi

The taxi ranks are located in the arrivals area of ​​the terminal on the left. The taxi ride costs - depending on traffic conditions and weather - between € 15 and € 30 for the trip to Milan.

Idroscalo
  • 1 Idroscalo (From the terminal it is a 1.5 km walk from the lake, there are also buses: from the airport, take line 183 (runs every day), line 930 (Saturday only) and line 73 / (73 canceled, Sunday only)). The seaplane base is located directly east of Linate airport. The elongated lake was created in the 1930s as a runway for seaplanes, while regular planes were operated from a common terminal. After the Second World War, the lake was converted into a bathing lake. At the Idroscalo you can find beaches for bathing and other leisure facilities, from where you can also admire the planes taking off and landing. In summer - with your swimsuit in your suitcase - you can also use it to spend the longer transfer times.

How to keep in touch

Internet access: free access via the "viamilano" hotspot, the speed is limited to 150 kBps and the traffic to 300 MB (which is perfectly sufficient for surfing and sending e-mails during a short waiting period). If you need more speed and more data volume, you can purchase premium packages with a credit card.
