List of airports bosnìaci-herzegòvini, divided by region. In the country there are 4 international airports and a few dozen smaller airports. It is not easy to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina by air from Italy as there are very few direct flights.
Central Bosnia
- 1 Livno airport (Livno), ☎ 387 34243650, @[email protected]. It is a historic partisan airport in the region consisting of 4 grassy runways. It is the headquarters of the Livno Aeroklub and for detailed information about the airport's activity, it is good to contact them.
Northeast Bosnia
- 2 Tuzla International Airport (IATA: TZL) (Tuzla), ☎ 387 35302400, @[email protected]. It is the second most important airport in the country, with a troubled history that made it the most important airport interchange in Yugoslavia in the twentieth century. To date, the only international company operating is WizzAir, which offers flights mainly to Germany and the Sweden. There are no connections with Italy.
Bosnian Craina
- 3 Banja Luka International Airport (IATA: BNX) (Banja Luka), ☎ 387 51535210, @[email protected]. It is a small international airport mainly served by low-cost airlines Ryanair. This offers with Italy only one direct flight from Milan-Orio al Serio, together with links with Germany, Sweden, Austria is Belgium. Here it also operates Air Serbia, with direct flights from Belgrade.
- In the same city there is an aerodrome used for sporting and recreational purposes.
Herzegovina
- 4 Mostar International Airport (IATA: OMO) (Mostar), ☎ 387 36352770, fax: 387 36350212, @[email protected]. It became an international airport during the 1984 Olympics and is still used today by the faithful on their way to Medjugorje. The only regular international flight connects the city to Zagreb. There are no connections defined for Italy or in any case for other international destinations. The airport is in fact mainly used to reach domestic destinations.
Bosnian posavina
This region has no international or significant airports.
Sarajevo region
- 5 Sarajevo International Airport (IATA: SJJ) (6.1 km from Sarajevo), ☎ 387 33289100.
Mon-Fri 05: 00-23: 00. It is the nation's main international airport, first for the number of passengers carried and for size. Despite its proximity, it does not offer direct connections with Italy, but rather with the capitals of the Balkans and Central Europe.
