Batumi is the capital of the Autonomous Republic ofAjara in Georgia. Its coastal location and subtropical climate make it a popular city for vacationers in the Caucasus. It is the party capital of the region with the nightlife to match it and which increasingly includes big name international DJs in beachfront clubs. Expect to party on the beaches with Russians, Armenians, Azerbaijanis, Turks and, of course, Georgians.

Batumi and its surroundings is one of the major tourist and resort areas on the Georgian Black Sea coast. The climate is humid subtropical. The annual difference in average temperatures, with a mild winter and a hot summer is a feature of the city as well as of the Georgian coast. The mean annual temperature is 14.5 ° C. There are regular bus and marchroutkas (minibus) connections between Batumi and Tbilisi. The journey takes about 6 h and the price is 18 GEL (~4,32 € - course of 04/27/2021) (~ 4.78 Fr. - price of 04/27/2021) (~ C $ 6.47 - class on 04/27/2021) (~ $ 5.22 - class on 04/27/2021) (~ 2 833.13 F CFA - price of 04/27/2021). The scenery on the road is breathtaking. Daily buses run between Batumi and Trabzon in Turkey with stop at Rize and a border crossing at Sarpi. Make sure you have all the necessary documents.

There are two bus stations for the departure of the marchroutkas. One for long distance travel for Kutaisi, Tbilisi, Poti... The other in Tbilisi Square to go to Sarpi (2 GEL, 20 min).
