The battle of Bezzecca

Giacomo Cis lived in the current APSP "Giacomo Cis" in the second half of the 19th century. He improved the internal and external road situation of the Ledro Valley building the Ponale road and many other roads.

The Ponale road

The "Popo de Bezeca" was the nickname of Bernardo Gilli. The latter was known in Europe for its extraordinary height: 2.60 m. He went before rulers of all kinds as a freak, dressed as a Turk. The Latin inscription "Bernardus Gilli betiecae qui rare octopedum sui corporis dimension meritogiganteo nomine insignitus fuit peracto itinere totius fere Europae patriam remeavit 1768 et hanc domum curiosity sumptibus aedificavit". He died on May 27, 1791 and was buried in the cemetery of S. Stefano on the hill of the same name.
