The Brussels Zaventem Airport (officially Brussels Airport, earlier Dutch: Brussel Nationaal Luchthaven, French: Aéroport Bruxelles-National) is commonly referred to as Brussels Airport and is located 12 km northeast of Brussels in Zaventem.

The airport is located northeast of the village of Zavantem, northeast of Brussels. It is larger and closer to the city than the other Brussels-Charleroi airport, which is mainly served by low-cost airlines.

By train

  • Bruxelles-Nat.-Aéroport train station:: The airport train station is located under the terminal (in the basement level 1). By bus

  • The bus stop is on level 0.
  • The MIVB / STIB express bus line 12 connects the airport via the Schuman stop with the final stop in 30 minutes Bruxelles-Luxembourg train station, the ticket costs 3 €.   • Every hour there is a direct bus connection from the airport to Antwerp (Travel time 45 minutes) and back. The buses depart from the back of platform B at the bus station (level 0). The fare from the airport to Brussels city center is usually around € 35. Licensed taxis can be recognized by the yellow and blue emblem.

By car

Brussels Airport can be found under POI (Points of Interest) in most GPS systems. An alternative is to enter the intersection A201 / Vilvoordelaan, 1930 Zaventem. This intersection is the start of the access road to the airport.

The airport can be reached by car via the outer ring of Brussels. It is located at the Zaventem interchange in an easterly direction on the A201.

Travelers from a country of the Schengen Agreement can reach Brussels on Gates A, travelers from a non-Schengen country on Gates B.

If you travel further to a Schengen country, you also fly out via Gates A. All flights to non-Schengen countries start from the B gates (with the exception of Brussels Airlines flights to Africa). All Brussels Airlines flights depart from the T-Gates.

The airport has a total of 10,600 spaces within walking distance of the terminal building. There is an Express Park for short stays of up to 3 hours, a short-term car park up to 3 days (P1 and P2) and a long-term car park for more than 3 days (P3).

There is a pharmacy on the fourth level near the well-known Brussels Café. It is open every day, including the weekends: Monday - Friday: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

  • The airport information is located in the departure hall (level 3). Opening times: 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. daily.

  • ATMs are in the departure hall, in the arrivals hall, in the baggage claim area, on the fourth level, at Pier 1 at Gate A and at Pier 1 at Gate B.
  • Exchange offices are located in the transit area, in the departure and arrival hall, in the Travel Value & Tax Free Shopping areas, on gate B and near the baggage claim area.
