Kalwaria Pacławska is a place of pilgrimage in the polish Voivodeship Subcarpathian by doing Przemyśl Mountains in the foothills of the Beskydy Mountains. Next Kalwaria Zebrzydowska and Kalwaria Wejherowska the place is one of the most important Kalvarien mountains in Poland. The place is southeast of Rzeszów at the Wiar and is the starting point for hikes.
background
The Calvary was built from 1665. In 1668 the Franciscans came to the place to take over the administration of the sanctuary. The venerated Madonna originally came from Kamieniec Podolski and came to the local Marian shrine between 1672 and 1679. After a major fire, the Marienbasilika was rebuilt in the late Baroque style in the 18th century. With the First Partition of Poland, the city came to the Habsburgs and became Polish again after the First and Second World Wars.
