Karwieńskie Błoto Drugie (German Karwenbruch) is a seaside resort in Poland in the voivodeship Pomerania at the Slowinsian coast, the central part of the Polish Baltic coast.
background
The place is quite small and manageable. It is therefore particularly suitable for tourists who are looking for peace and relaxation on the beach and in nature away from the hustle and bustle.
The voivode Jan Wejher settled Dutch religious refugees (Mennonites) here at the end of the 16th century, who made the marshland arable at the beginning of the 17th century. The place was able to keep its Dutch-Mennonite character until the middle of the 19th century. The townscape with numerous canals and half-timbered houses is still reminiscent of the first settlers from the Netherlands.
Its twin settlement Karwieńskie Błoto Pierwsze is located southeast of the village, but not directly on the Baltic Sea coast. The history of both places is closely linked.
