The climatic health resort Smaller ones belongs to the community Edertal in North Hesse. Kleinern is around 35 km southwest of kassel and 4 km south of the Edertalsperre. The village is located in the middle of the Kellerwald-Edersee nature park at 250 m above sea level. The springs of the neighboring spa center Bad Wildungen / Reinhardshausen also come to light in Kleinern.
