Bark is a city in Münsterland close to Dutch Border (Achterhoek) and adjacent to Lower Rhine.

Borken is the district town and service / administrative center for the south-western Münsterland.
The circle also includes: Ahaus, Bocholt (largest city in the district), Heek, Heathen, Gescher, Gronau, Isselburg, Legden, Raesfeld, Reken, Roadstead, Schoeppingen, City wages, South wage, Velen and Vreden.
Borken itself consists of the actual city (in which almost half of the inhabitants live) and the districts Borkenwirthe and Burlo, Gemen, Grütlohn, Hoxfeld, Rhedebrügge, Westenborken, Marbeck and Weseke as well as some smaller farming communities.

The nearest airports are the Munster Osnabrück Airport(IATA: FMO), the Niederrhein Weeze Airport
(IATA: NRN) and, further away, but with more regular connections and more easily accessible by public transport, in Dusseldorf Airport
(IATA: DUS) .

The 1 Borken train station is the terminus of the RE 14, a regional express that travels from Essen via Bottrop, Gladbeck and Dorsten. The route is served by the NordWestBahn.
By bus
Flixbus drives to Borken, e.g. from Kassel, Hanover, Berlin and Arnhem. The 2 Long-distance bus stop Borken is located at the bus station near the train station, less than a kilometer northwest of the city center.
The Regional traffic Münsterland (RVM) operates the bus routes that connect Borken with the surrounding towns and districts. There are also night buses and call collective taxes at low-traffic times, as well as a bicycle bus (FietsenBus) in summer.

- TOP route. A TOP (Tourist Orientation Point) is a point close to the border, from which you can cycle, hike or ride and close to which there are correspondingly worthwhile destinations. The system of TOPs extends from the district of Borken (as well as Achtehoek and Twente on the Dutch side) to the county of Bentheim in the north (with Vechtdal and Overijssel on the other side of the border).
- The Bocholter Aa-Weg leads 58km along the stream from Velen via Ramsdorf, Gemen, Borken, Rhede, Bocholt, Isselburg to Nach Anholt (with the moated castle Anholt). The Bocholter Aa flows into the Oude IJssel five kilometers behind the Dutch border.
- Hiking tours, I particularly recommend the Commiesen stalemate (Hiking on customs officers and smugglers' trails across the green border), which leads from Burlo north to Südlohn / Winterswijk.

Borken has an above-average range of schools. There are several grammar schools with different subjects (economics, technology, education and social affairs) and also with a Christian orientation (Mariengarden high school), as well as universities of applied sciences (social and health services, business and administration, construction / wood / electrical and metal engineering), vocational schools and a technical school for monument preservation and renovation of old buildings.
