Prazeres is a community in Madeira Calheta county.
background
Prazeres is a small municipality in the Calheta district, the administrative area of which extends up into the highlands Paúl da Serra extends and adjoins Estreito de Calheta to the west. The employment structure is still predominantly agricultural. Some of the most beautiful hikes in southwest Madeira can be tackled from Prazeres.
getting there
By plane
Madeira's only one Santa Cruz Airport Prazeres can be reached within 50 minutes on the coastal motorway.
By bus
The operator Rodoeste connects the place once a day via line 80 Funchal-Porto Moniz, lines 107 and 142 several times a day with Calheta, Ribeira Brava and Funchal or north to Ponta da Pargo.
In the street
The part of the coastal motorway, which was expanded through tunnels, ended in Prazeres in 2010, so that the place is easily accessible along the south coast. In the continuation to Porto Moniz, the winding country road then follows the topography of the coastline. The ER 210 also leads up to the Paul da Serra highlands, which is also very curvy and partly still over cobblestones.

There is a marina in the neighboring municipality of Calheta.
