Seixal is a municipality in the area of Porto Moniz on the island Madeira. The population lives mainly from agriculture and viticulture. The place, which is scarcely noticed by tourism, still shows a lot of the original life on the island. Although it was founded in 1553, it was not opened for road construction until the middle of the last century.

For most visitors, Seixal will remain a sightseeing point as part of a tour or excursion on the island. Nature lovers or people who shy away from the hustle and bustle can also find a natural place to stay here, which is very well connected to the rest of the island in terms of transport, provided the accommodation is not located too far in the hinterland.

By plane
Madeira's only one Santa Cruz Airport Seixal can be reached in about an hour via the Funchal Ribeira Brava Sao Vicente motorways. Once the section between Santana and Sao Vicente has been completed, this travel time will be cut by half.
By bus
Public bus transport is provided by the company. Rodoeste guaranteed. Line 139 currently provides 2 connections a day to Porto Moniz and Funchal via the Encumeada tunnel, while line 150 runs up to 4 times between Porto Moniz and Sao Vicente on school days.
In the street
Seixal is located roughly in the middle of the northwest section of the ER-101 coastal motorway and is accessed from this via a western and eastern exit. From there the main roads lead to the promenade above the cliff, where you can park.
