Ustrzyki Dolne is a mountain town in the voivodeship Subcarpathian in the southeast Poland between the Sanok-Turka Mountains and the Bieszczady in the Forest Carpathians, east of Solina reservoir. The place is on the edge of the Bieszczady National Park.

The place was founded before 1509 under Wallachian law. In 1727 he received city rights. With the First Partition of Poland, the place came to the Habsburgs. In 1872 the city was transferred to the First Hungarian-Galician Railway connected. After the First World War it became Polish again. The city was badly affected at the beginning of the First World War, the front crossed the town twice in 1914/1915. After the German-Soviet attack on Poland, the city was under Soviet occupation from 1939 to 1941, from 1941 to 1944 and from 1944 to 1951 until it returned to Poland in 1951.

By train

Ustrzyki Dolne is by train from Krakow reachable. The place is east of the railway line Nowy Sącz-Sanok. The railway line leads from Sanok over Lesko after Ustrzyki Dolne. The tracks continue from there to Ukraine, but are no longer used.

By bus

Regional buses go to Rzeszów and the surrounding towns.

In the street

The place is on the Big Bieszczaden loop. The panoramic road with numerous serpentines is particularly popular with cyclists and motorcyclists.

The country road DK 28 leads north past the place. The DK 84 of Sanok via Lesko and on to the Polish-Ukrainian border crossing east of Ustrzyki Dolne.
