Upper Austria (German: Oberösterreich) is one of the federal states (Bundesland) ofAustria.

It borders to the north with the Germany (Bavaria) and the Czech Republic (Southern Bohemia), to the east with the Lower Austria, to the south with the Styria and southwest with the Salzburger Land.

- Steyr - Nicknamed "Romantic City," Steyr it is located at the confluence of the Enns and Steyr rivers. The composer Franz Schubert stayed there for a long time and drew inspiration for his pieces.
- Wels - The "Ovilava" of Roman times has a well preserved historic center with a central square surrounded by medieval houses and a castle where theemperor Maximilian I he took his last breath.

How to get around
By public transport you can reach any destination in Upper Austria. The ÖBB railway network is well developed and the LILO local railway is still active in the Linz area. By bus it is possible to reach places not served by the railway line.
