Replacing the ferry with a bridge was rejected in several referendums. Next bridges over the March: Hohenau, Castle courtyard (bicycles and pedestrians only) as well as via the Hainburger Danube Bridge and Bratislava to the other bank of the river.
By bike / on foot
On both sides along the March, hiking and cycling trails have been developed and signposted. You can switch between the Slovak and Austrian sides by ferry in Angern.
