Eckernförde (Danish: Egernførde or Egernfjord; Low German: Eckernföör) is a city in Schleswig-Holstein.

Eigentlich ist in Eckernförde immer was los, manchmal aber ganz besonders viel. Ein aktueller, sehr detaillierter Veranstaltungskalender nennt Details mit genauen Terminen und Veranstaltungsorten. Da gibt es jede Menge Highlights:

• Immer am ersten Sonntag im Monat (Ausnahme im August) in der Zeit von 09:00 - 18:00 Uhr den Eckernförder Fischmarkt. Fangfrischer Fisch vom Kutter am Hafen und eine verkaufsoffene Innenstadt von 11 - 17 Uhr im Januar und von März bis Oktober erwarten die Gäste.

• The Stadthalle bietet laufend interessante Veranstaltungen.

• Das traditionelle Osterfeuer direkt am Südstrand Eckernförde immer am Oster-Sonnabend.

• Am Ostersonntag steigen die Drachen in den Himmel und es regnet Süßigkeiten.

• Anfang Mai findet der jährliche Weltfischbrötchentag an Schleswig-Holsteins Ostseeküste und den Süßwasserseen der Holsteinischen Schweiz statt.

• Mitte Juni gibt es die Aalregatta. Dabei segeln mehr als 100 Yachten mit 600 Seglern von Kiel nach Eckernförde und zurück. Begleitet wird die älteste Regatta auf der Ostsee von einem interessanten und spaßigen Landprogramm für Segler und Besucher am Eckernförder Hafen rund um das neue Appartementhaus an der Hafenspitze. Das Landprogramm besteht aus einer Festmeile am Hafen mit bunten Buden, Live-Musik, spannenden Kleinkünstlern und zahlreichen Angeboten auch für die Kleinen.

• Zu Pfingsten feiert man die Sprottentage. Die „echten“ Kieler Sprotten kommen aus Eckernförde und das wird jedes Jahr gefeiert! Es gibt ein buntes Fest rund um die Themen Fischer und Fischerei am Eckernförder Hafen.

• Ende Juni gibt es Rock am Strand and Strand Open Air, zwei Großveranstaltungen am Strand mit internationalen Künstlern.

• Seit 2014 gibt es das Ostsee-Strandfrühstück Anfang Juli in der Zeit von 09:00 – 12:00 Uhr direkt vor dem Stadthallenrestaurant an der Strandpromenade.

• Alle zwei Jahre finden die Eckernförde Classics statt, ein Oldtimertreffen mit Niveau, das nächste Mal 21. - 23. Juli 2017

• Jedes Jahr am ersten Augustwochenende wird Eckernförde von den Piraten überfallen und eingenommen. Am Hafen erstreckt sich eine bunte Festmeile, der Strand am Ostsee-Info-Center wird von den Piraten besetzt und dient als kleines Piratendorf mit Zelten, Lagerfeuer und Spielen für jedermann.

• Immer vom 1. Advent bis Sylvester gibt es den beliebten Christmas Market mit vielen Naschereien und Kunsthandwerkerständen.
