The community Hoechheim is lying in Grave field in the northern Lower Franconia and also consists of the villages of Gollmuthhausen, Irmelshausen and Rothausen. It is known nationwide Irmelshausen moated castle in the district of the same name.

Schweinfurt - Erfurt (Thuringian Forest Autobahn):
- Departure in the north:
Mellrichstadt and further about 12 kilometers on the state road via Hendungen to Höchheim.
- Departure in the south: Bad Neustadt / Nord, junction of the B 279, and then about 4 kilometers in the direction of Königshofen. After Wülfershausen branch onto the state road and then 11 kilometers via Waltershausen to Höchheim.

Irmelshausen moated castle
The Veste Irmelshausen is one of the most beautiful moated castles in Franconia. The castle has been in the possession of the Lords of Bibra for six hundred years and is in extremely good condition both inside and outside.
The complex was built from 1376 in several phases under the Bibra. The Hansen building consisting of east, south and south-west wing was built between 1556-1561, the late Gothic north-west wing was renewed from 1854.
The summer frog concert in the moat is also extremely impressive.
The fortress is inhabited and therefore not accessible to tourists inside.
