Oberstaufen is a market in the district Oberallgäu.
background
The Oberstaufen market is located at around 800 m altitude in the Oberallgäu, the place is as Climatic health resort accepted. The place is mainly known for the widely used here Schroth cure. This naturopathic treatment has its origin here. The places belong to Oberstaufen Steibis and Thalkirchdorf as well as several hamlets and farms.
Oberstaufen's local mountain is the 1834 m high ridge, it is the highest point in the Nagelfluhkette Nature Park, which also includes the neighboring Austrian towns Hittisau, Riefensberg and Sulzberg belong. More neighbors are Balderschwang, Blaichach, Immenstadt and Missen-Wilhams, they belong to the county Oberallgäu. The neighboring towns Oberreute and Stiefenhofen one already counts to the Westallgäu, they are in the district of Lindau.

- From the district Steibis goes the Hochgratbahn on the 1832 m high High ridge. Numerous hiking trails start from this mountain. The demanding one is known Nagelfluh ridge walk. The Hochgrat is also a popular ski region.
- A lesser-known, but also attractive and demanding mountain hike is the ascent of the Hochgrats through the Brunnenauscharte .
