Pułtusk (German: Pultusk or Poltow) is a historic city in the polish Voivodeship Mazovia at the Narew at the edge of White heather. The city is located in the historical region Zakroczymer country in the northern part of Mazovia in Lower Narew Valley. In the Middle Ages, the city counted as well Warsaw and Plock to the largest cities of Mazovia. During the Napoleonic Wars, an important battle between the coalitions of France-Bavaria and Russia-Prussia took place here in 1806.
