Wyszogród (German: Hohenburg on the Vistula) is a city in the polish Voivodeship Mazovia in the Warsaw-Level in the Valley of the Middle Vistula, at the mouth of the Bzura in the river. The strategically located city is in the historical region Wyszogród country in the north-western part of Mazovia and is one of the oldest cities in the region. Its history dates back to the 7th century when a Slavic fortress was located here.
