Siedlce (German: Siedlez) is a historic city in the polish Voivodeship Mazovia not far from the border with the voivodeship Lublin. The city is located in the historical region Lesser Poland on the Łukówer level in the Łuków Land on the edge of the Łuków Heath. Until the 13th century the place belonged to Sandomirer country. Geographically, the city turns to the south Podlaskie counted. The city is characterized by the classical architecture of the second half of the 18th century. The only painting by is in Siedlce El Greco in Poland. It represents the Saint Francis when he receives the stigmata and is in the local church museum.
