Szydłowiec (German: Schiedlowietz) is a historic city in the polish Voivodeship Mazovia in the Iłża-Foothills, part of the Kielcer Plateau, at the Korzeniówka. The city is located in the historical region Radomer-Country, part of the Sandomirer Lands, in the northeast Lesser Poland. The city is not far from the border with the voivodeship Holy Cross in the northern foreland of the Heiligkreuzgebirge at the Heiligkreuz-Heath and is known for its Renaissance architecture. The magnate was the patron of art and architecture of the High Renaissance Mikołaj Szydłowiecki the Younger.
