Ciechanów (German: Zechenau) is a historic city in the polish Voivodeship Mazovia not far from the border with the voivodeship Warmia-Masuria at the Łydynia, a tributary of the Wkrathat are in the Narew flows out. The city is located in the historical region Mazovia on the Zechenau plateau in the Zechenauer Landwhose capital it had been since the Middle Ages. The city is known for its brick-Gothic architecture, especially for the castle of the Mazovian princes from the 14th century, as well as for the art of brewing. The local brewery brews the brands Ciechan Miodowe and Ciechan Wyborne and is part of the largest Polish regional brewery group that is not part of a large beer group. The Fürstenburg is located in the brand's logo.

From Berlin the A12 leads to the border Slubice and further than Autostrada A2 to Warsaw. It's not far from there.
Alternatively, from southern Germany and Switzerland you can use Prague and from Austria over Brno drive and then from the Polish-Czech border the Autostrada A1 take to A2.
