Warka is a historic city in the polish Voivodeship Mazovia on the Central Mazovian Plain at the Pilitza, not far from its confluence with the Vistula. The city is located in the historical region Czersker-Country, part of historical Mazovia. The city is known for its art of brewing, which goes back to the Middle Ages. The local brewery brews the Marche beer Warka, Strong and Królewskie. As early as 1478, the local brewmasters received the exclusive right to the prince's court and the council cellar in Warsaw to deliver. Even then, the number of breweries in the city rose to over thirty. 1656 led Hetman Stefan Czarniecki the Polish-Lithuanian troops to a victory against the Swedish army at Warka. lived in the 18th century Kazimierz Pułaski and in the 19th century Piotr Wysocki here.
