The small town Waldershof is on Stone forest in the northern Upper Palatinate. Fichtel Mountains and Pen country are in the immediate vicinity. Waldershof was only elevated to a town in 1963.

There is also one 1 Breakpoint on the Nuremberg – Marktredwitz – Eger line, where regional express trains from Nuremberg and Marktredwitz stop every two hours and every four hours from Eger. The next larger train station is in Marktredwitz.

In the street

Waldershof is about the thinly traveled Highway 93courtregensburg reachable. The next connection points are Marktredwitz-Süd for the journey from the direction of Hof and Pechbrunn for the approach from Regensburg.

By bicycle

Those who travel by bike can reach Waldershof via the Wallenstein cycle path.

  • The 1 Weißenstein castle ruins stands on a 863 m high mountain peak in the stone forest
  • The former 2 Castle or Ganerbeburg, dates from around 1100, but the builder is not known.
  • The3 Upper Palatinate Tower is a lookout tower on the 946 m high plate, the highest point in the stone forest

Chapels

  • The Anthony Chapel from 1766 stands between two mighty old linden trees next to the former Hohenhard schoolhouse.
  • The little one stands south of Wolfersreuth St. Joseph Chapel, it dates from the 18th century.
  • The Castle Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Poppenreuth was to be canceled in 1828, which luckily did not happen.
  • In the Kemnather Straße, next to the Kosseinebach stands the John Chapel.
  • In 1748 the Parish Church of St. Sebastian off, only the church tower remained.

  • Marktredwitz (3 km north) - the next larger city is in the southeast of the Fichtelgebirge and already in the administrative district of Upper Franconia. It is the economic center of the Wunsiedel district. The Egerland Museum is a reminder of the old homeland before 1945.
  • Bad Alexandersbad (7 km northwest) - a small mud spa not far from the Kosseine (939 m) and the Luisenburg rock labyrinth.
  • Fuchsmühl (10 km southeast) - State-approved resort.
  • Wunsiedel (11 km northwest, through Marktredwitz, then B 303) - district town of the Upper Franconian district of Wunsiedel; Fichel Mountains Museum.
  • Wiesau (14 km southeast of Fuchsmühl) - market town on the eastern edge of the stone forest; east of Wiesau joins the Stiftland. Headquarters of Wiesauplast, one of the largest employers in the region.
  • Friedenfels (15 km south) - State-approved resort.
