Stiftland - Stiftland

The Pen country is the northeast region of the Upper Palatinate. There is a deeper area between the Upper Palatinate Forest and the Fichtel Mountains and covers large parts of the Tirschenreuth district.

The local gastronomy likes to use carp and other freshwater fish from September to April and bring them to the plate in a variety of dishes. As a visitor you shouldn't miss trying the fish cuisine.

The is brewed Zoigl for almost 600 years by those authorized to brew in the communal breweries Eslarn, Falkenberg, Mitterteich, Neuhaus and Windischeschenbach. The Zoigl is a bottom-fermented beer that only contains the naturally occurring carbonic acid. A six-pointed star (guild sign of the brewers) hanging on the house gable indicates that "Zoigl" is being served there. The half from 1.60 €, plus there are homemade snacks, reservations are not possible, from time to time music from randomly present musicians.

The local mineral water comes from Kondrau, a district of Waldsassen, the Condrau mineral fountain offers a wide range of non-alcoholic beverages.
