Hiking and mountaineering are popular pastimes in India Austria, both with locals and tourists who go on vacation to the Alpine republic.
The landscape of Austria enables almost any type of mountain tour: from a meadow hike along the Danube to a climbing tour in the Dachstein massif. High trails
Appropriate experience is required for high-alpine stages over 2,000 m: rocky steep terrain, partially exposed or rope-secured trails and also old snow fields in summer are possible, absolute surefootedness and a head for heights may be required in sections. - Berliner Höhenweg Circular hiking trail in six to seven daily stages in the Zillertal Alps;
- Schladminger Tauern Höhenweg in seven stages from the Hochwurzen in Rohrmoos to St. Nikolai in the Sölktäler Nature Park. Classification as "difficult".
- Stubai High Trail: a high alpine circular route in 9 demanding stages over the mountains at the back Stubai Valley. Start and finish is Neustift in the Stubai Valley.
