  • Selbhorn (2655 m), highest peak in the Stone Sea.
  • Schönfeldspitze (2653 m), well-known photo motif over the Königssee.
from the Riemannhaus: through the west flank (some climbing) over a band in the south flank to the east flank (exit exposed). Then over steep crags and a short exposed flat patch (secured) to the summit. approx. 1 1/2 hours from the Riemannhaus, rocks partially slimmed down. dangerous when wet.
  • Great dog death (2593 m), it owes its name to its profile from the south.
from Ingolstadt house: over steep crags, about 1 hour ascent. Surefootedness required.

Lakes and bodies of water

  • Funtensee (1652 m) at the Kärlinger Haus, Grünsee and Schwarzsee (neighboring) in the Stone Sea.
The record low temperatures measured at the Funtensee by the local weather station in winter can be explained by the location on a plateau surrounded by even higher mountains: the air that has cooled down on the mountains and is therefore heavier sinks and collects on the plateau. The lake basin is not forest-free because of the low temperatures, but because it is used as an alpine pasture. see more www.funtensee.de (official information from the National Park to the Funtensee)
Ascent to the Kärlinger Haus (1631 m, managed) from St. Bartholomä am Königssee (600 m) through the Saugasse in approx. 4 hours.
