Göllstock in the alpenglow

The Goellstock is a massif and chain of mountains in the east of the Berchtesgaden Alps and is partly in Upper Bavaria and partly in Tennengau in the Austrian State of Salzburg.

At 2,522 m, the highest peak in the massif, a popular climbing area.

Little Göll

A chain of peaks several kilometers long (Tetter / Taderer, Grünwandkopf, Freieck, Schönbachkopf) stretches from the saddle south of the Hohen Göll to the summit of the Kleiner Göll, 1,753 m. This part of the Göllstock on the Austrian side is also known as the Kuchler Kamm referred to as he was with the congregation Kuchl the Salzachtal and was originally climbed from here. Today the ÖAV path 456 leads from the Gollinger waterfall to the Kleiner Göll.

Bluntautal

In summer there are mountain huts with refreshment stops, no regular accommodation:

  • 1  Mitterkaseralm (1,534 m). Tel.: 49(0)8652 - 51 00. Easiest approach: approx. 1 ½ hours and 400 mH from the parking lot in Hinterbrand on the ascent to Jenner.

List of mountain huts of the German Alpine Club (DAV) and des Austrian Alpine Club (OeAV) as well as private huts for hikers and mountaineers. The huts are only managed in the summer season, due to the high occupancy by hikers and mountaineers, a reservation in advance and especially on the weekends is generally advisable.
