places
- Madison
- The capital Madison is characterized by its location between 3 lakes (and some smaller ones). Definitely worth seeing is Capitol Hill with the symmetrical State Capitol. Head west from Capitol Hill into a very busy shopping street. Also recommended are the university and the ice cream at Michael's, a mixture of soft ice cream and milk ice cream.
- Milwaukee
- With about 600,000 inhabitants it is Milwaukee the largest city in Wisconsin.
- New Glarus
- About 40 kilometers south of Madison is the community founded by Swiss immigrants New Glarus.
Smaller places:
- Marinette
