Ückeritz is a seaside resort on the island Usedom in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania right on the banks of the Baltic Sea and the backwaters.

The seaside resorts in the center of Usedom have been around since 2005 Zempin, Koserow, Loddin and Ückeritz merged to form the "Amber Baths" association. The name stands for the smaller, near-natural bathing resorts between the nearby coasts of the Baltic Sea and Achterwasser.

Ückeritz extends from the picturesque Achterwasserhafen in the west to the small beach promenade on the Baltic Sea.

getting there

Ückeritz train station

By train

The Ückeritz train station of the Usedomer Bäderbahn makes it easy to get here by train. The Usedomer Bäderbahn of Stralsund coming runs every hour until Swinoujscie (Świnoujście Centrum) in Poland.

In the street

By car you have the choice of arriving via the B111 from Wolgast from or via the B110 (via Drinker and Usedom) and the L265, from which you have to turn left onto the B111. The federal road 111 leads through Ückeritz, so that, depending on the accommodation, there is the possibility of turning in the backwater or the Baltic Sea direction.

By bicycle

The long-distance cycle routes Baltic Sea Cycle Route in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Mecklenburg Lake Cycle Route run directly on the Baltic coast.

mobility

In addition to the traffic connections via road and train mentioned, which ensure easy and mostly quick access to all excursion destinations on the island of Usedom, the well-developed network of cycle paths is particularly worth mentioning. The coastal cycle path runs along the Ückeritz beach promenade, so that all the seaside resorts along the island's Baltic coast can be reached from here. Inexperienced cyclists should consider the rapidly changing inclines (Pageluns Mountains, Langer Berg) in both directions.

From the nearby port of Stagnieß, boat trips across the Achterwasser and the Peene River are offered, which are entertaining and interesting. Since Ückeritz does not have its own pier, boat trips on the Baltic Sea can be made from the neighboring one Bansin to be kicked off.

Tourist Attractions

The rock garden New Pudagla

Like the other amber baths, Ückeritz has the privilege of being close to the shores of the Achterwasser and the Baltic Sea. So are both the wide sandy beach between Kölpinsee and Bansin as well as the beautifully situated sports boat harbor on the backwater are worth seeing. The newly created small beach promenade is just as tranquil as the historic fishing village of Ückeritz on the Achterwasser.

To the south of Ückeritz is the Stagnieß harbor, from which backwater tours can be booked. The steep bank near the harbor offers a very nice view of the Ückeritz harbor and the Loddiner Höft. Hikes to Konker and Rauhen Berg can be started from Stagnieß Pudagla to be undertaken.
