Egloffstein is a market and state-approved climatic health resort in the Forchheim district in the Bavarian administrative district Upper Franconia in the southern part of the Franconian Switzerland.

By plane
The closest international airport is Nuremberg Airport.
By train
With the train you either go to Forchheim and then continue by shared taxi or bus. The second possibility is from Nuremberg by train to Graefenberg and then continue by bus to Egloffstein
Local public transport in the Nuremberg metropolitan region is operated by the Greater Nuremberg Transport Association VGN operated. It is possible to use different means of transport with one ticket, such as bus, train, S-Bahn or U-Bahn. The tickets can be purchased online or via an app.

- Return service for hikers, on Tel. 09197 6282-528 you can be driven back to the starting point, e.g. hotel, parking lot, bus stop or train station Graefenberg at the end of a hike. The trip costs € 5.00 per person and should be registered one hour in advance.
Tourist Attractions
- 1 Egloffstein Castle, Rittergasse 80B, 91349 Egloffstein. Tel.: 49 9197 8780. sits on a rock above the place.Price: adults € 4, children € 2, families € 10.
- 2 Hundshaupten Castle. is now privately owned. It was first mentioned in a document in 1369.
- It is believed that the Rock cellar have been used since the Middle Ages. Goods were stored in the cellars until the end of the 19th century. Of the three entrances, 14 cellars around 700 meters long lead into the interior of the mountain. Two entrances are located below Felsenkellerstraße next to the Raiffeisenbank car park, they are open and can also be viewed on your own.
- The Easter fountain in the district of Bieberbach is the largest in the world. It has been entered in the Guinness Book of Records with 11,108 hand-painted eggshells. The fountain is decorated every year from Palm Sunday until about three weeks after Easter. It is now so well known that it can cause jams on weekends. Day trips by bus are also available.

- The Egloffsteiner farmers market takes place 3 times a year on the hiking car park at the entrance to Egloffstein from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- The traditional one takes place every 2 years Eichert meeting in the Affalterthal district instead of with Eicher tractor fans from all over southern Germany.
