Eggolsheim is on the motorway A73, but without its own departure. The exit is recommended from the north Buttenheim and from the south Forchheim-North.

  • The town hall from Eggolsheim
  • The Shepherd's Gate in the center is the landmark of Eggolsheim. The former Forchheimer Tor burned down in 1615 and was then rebuilt. In 1684 a gatehouse was added in which shepherd families lived, from which the current name developed.
  • The Jägersburg was formerly a baroque hunting lodge of the Bamberg prince-bishops.
  • The Top chapels are four wooden arbors with late Gothic sandstone blocks from the 17th and 18th centuries, which used to stand at the four exits from Eggolsheim to Neuses, Schirnaidel, Kauernhofen and Forchheim and are now located within the village. Every year on the Sunday after Corpus Christi, the top chapels serve as altars in the large corridor.
  • The parish church St. Martin was built from 1827 to 1844 by Franz Joseph Schirlinger. It has a Gothic tower from 1305, ceiling paintings by Kaspar Schleibner and an unusual portal by Leo von Klenze.
  • The Trinity Chapel stands on the road to Bammersdorf, it was built in 1743.
  • Anna Chapel is a small chapel at the end of the village on the way to Forchheim, which was built in 1733. Every year at the Anna Festival, the wooden figure of Anna Selbdritt from the early 18th century is on the altar.
