Hiltpoltstein is a market in the district Forchheim in the Bavarian administrative district Upper Franconia in the southern part of the Franconian Switzerland. Visible from afar, the castle towers over the town.
The city has a very similar name Hilpoltstein in the Central Franconian district Roth, South from Nuremberg not far from the Rothsee.
